No, it stays on 1X most of the time. Right next to the notorious storm that never goes out of 1XEV.

simple solution for that in my area is to turn mobile network off, give it 5-10 seconds, then turn it back on.....and it grabs EV.....

I voted yes, and I've paid attention. I've never had it drop to 1X. Even when I am at work and have to go deep into the abyss of our warehouse, I get 2-3 bars of 1XEV.

I've never had another Blackberry to compare this one to, but the signal is equivalent to the Voyager I upgraded from. The town I live in isn't huge either, about 120K people.

alright thanks, i guess i'll just keep replacing til i get a good one, annoying. If i replace it, do i have 30 more days to replace that one, or is it only 30 days from the original purchase?

you have a 1 year warranty, but, I will say, if you're in an area that vzw just converted from alltel, wait till right before your 30 days is up to try to let the changes settle....I'm in an area that vzw didn't exist before the conversion and we're seeing a lot of oddities in the network that didn't exist before and that shouldn't happen normally.....

Lmao. Get a phone when it first comes out and then wonder why there are some issues with the OS. Major disappointment huh...then wait for a while before getting a new phone. At least you have 1XEV in your area...I am an Alltel convert and only have 1X.....cry people cry LOL

The only, and I mean only place, that I've noticed my signal dropping to 1X is at my parents house. For some reason, the signal there is absolutely horrible. It used to be real good, but now it sucks. Otherwise, I'm at 1XEV all the time.

Getting a good signal at my house is tough with any carrier. Sprint does the best though. With just 1 or 2 bars I never have a dropped call and a constant 1XEV. Semper Fi

Mine does! I get 5 or 4 bars...is it maybe because I live in the city?
Whatever it is...my phone is good! Haven't had a drop call and I've
Had the phone for a week now!

My tour has never gone down to 1x. The number of bars I am getting is unusually jumpy, but no dropped calls, and always 1XEV.

Never seen one go below EV, but I'm in Phoenix. In 4 months I think the Storm may have hit 1x 3 or 4 times. VZW kicks out here.

My Tour drops to 1X or loses signal sometimes. I did swap mine out once so far but it still has the same problem. Other phones in the house do not have any signal issues.

I sell the Tour,,, and haven't seen one YET stay on EV consistently. Reset phone, radio file needs to be updated.

Mine stays in 1XEV all the time. Unless of course I'm in an area that I know vzw doesn't have good coverage... Like out in some rural areas around here. Other than that, jam up and jelly tight.

Why should it always be at 1XEV?

If you reach a no 3G zone, it will drop to 1X.

I live out in BFE... So no, it definitely doesn't. But I usually never lose data services, so its really no big deal to me.
When I'm in a city however, its rock solid EV, no if ands or buts.
