The one guy who claimed it, but provided no proof had his thread deleted. Ask again on Sunday. :D
there are a few people who have pre-release devices. but noone who has recived one early from a pre-order or anything.
I have a model that's the official release. Activated and using it to type this. Sick phone. Have quite a few apps installed and phone is running nicely. So far most trackball blackberry apps work perfectly fine. First app I installed was SocialScope and I am loving the way it looks on here.

Are the concerns over the Tour's somewhat "recessed" trackball valid? The Burn Mobile review stated that there were issues with the trackball in their Tour (whether hardware related or software related was not specified).
A user on these forums got a chance to use the Tour tonight, and expressed similar critiques of the trackball.
And, I went back to watch the Wirefly hands on with the Tour, and noticed numerous times in the main menu where he would spin the trackball in an attempt to switch to a different application, yet the movements didn't seem to register with the first few swipes.
Have you experienced anything like this with your Tour?

I have none of those issues. Trackball has been perfect for me. I have no problem with trackball. If you have played with the pearl flip then this this is not a recessed. I would say the trackball is raised up about 1-1.5mm so I don't see this being an issue..
yes irie, if you perhaps get the chance to. could you write up a quick review on your first impressions of the tour? i'm sure many of us crackberries would GREATLY appreciate some opinions from someone who has the phone.

I will try. If not tonight I will try and have it up before mid-day tomorrow. Just got off work a little while ago and have to be up at 7am so sleep is calling me.
