I've heard the some people said that they were able to access data while on a call with their Verizon 8830 WE phone. I've never experienced this with my previous curve. I noticed that in the BBM alerts, it has the option to notify during calls. Now I know you cannot browse the internet while on a call, I've tried that, but can you still receive a BBM while on a call? BBM uses data is why I ask. Anyone use that feature normally?

CDMA does not allow for simultaneous data and voice transfer. 1X data will prevent a call from coming in, while EVDO will pause it's session when a call comes in.

The VZ rep I spoke to yesterday said she uses a storm and she said actually gets notified during a call and she actually gets the message. I just wanted to confirm this.

Texts work but bbms/internet wont. It's a limitation in cdma.
