I used to be able to lookup contacts from the home screen by just typing the name of a person. As I would build the name, the contacts would fill in and I could scroll. For example. looking for "brian ..." it would populate all the Brians I have. Now when I start typing "brian" after the B it stops listing anyone.
I didn't know you could do that in the first place, but after reading your note and trying it on my Tour I see it definitely does. When I type the letters for a name, I am going into the phone function. Could it be a setting there, such as "Dial from home screen" set to NO instead of YES? Good luck with this.
