What are the chances that verizon will swap out defaulty tour1 with new tour2? My trackball just stopped working and was curious if i could just wait to swap it out with the 9650 i would suffer until it came out. Did verizon do this with the storm1 and 2 by chance?
no not a chance. Storm 1 useres still cannot even get swaped to a Storm 2 yet for having problems with storm 1. Your able to swap your Tour 1 out for a Tour 2 only when Tour 1 is no longer made which is going to be a long time to come yet.
Never gonna happen, you can simply bring you Tour back to VZN and they will likely replace your track ball for nothing (assuming its still under warranty).

Verizon will not take apart the phone to replace the trackball. In order to change the trackball on this phone, the entire phone has to come apart, somethign that Verizon does not do since it voids the warranty and a hassel for them to do. They will only give out "Like new" devices after your 30 days are up
I agree slim chance of getting a newer model. BTW did anyone else see that Sprint is offering a new phone every year! Saw the ad on tv last night . That can't be profitable for them.
just look to what happen when the S2 was lunch in october... T1 and T2 are two different phone. It's like asking to Verizon to give you a Droid to replace your Tour...
