just got a tour - every time i try and add contacts, they dont show up in the contact list

what i`m doing
-clicking contacts
-then clicking add contact"
-then entering name and #
-click track ball and then hit "save"
once all of that is done

i go back to contacts and theres nothing

also my phone does not have a sim card - will that matter ?

In the Contact app, press Menu, and then check that you do not have any FILTERS set.
