    I think he is referring to the fact that on most phones you can type out an sms longer then 160 and if it is going to someone on Verizon then they see the whole thing, everyone else will just see the first 160. I know on my Dare I can send quite a bit longer then 160.

    That's exactly what I meant... sorry it wasn't clear. It sounds like the sms program doesnt let you go past 160 ever correct?

    no, apparently only verizon dumbphones can go over 160 to other verizon customers, via EMS (which i will sorely miss, but will have to use MMS as an alternative)
    on my alias i can write up to 7 texts with 160 chars in a row, but my blackberry curve owning friend has to break up her texts to me in 160 char intervals.
