According to the BBerry Tour 9630 manual, highest ear levels are:
1 g : 1.43 W/kg
10 g : 1.72 W/kg
RIM did it again..another record for the highest levels of radiation in industry. Wanted to get this phone instead of the new Palm Pre. I am not thrilled with this.
Who cares? Honestly. Thanks for the waste of space.
Some people do care about there long term health. Will this ever amount to anything, probably not. But there are people who take these things very seriously and it is every bit their right to do so. That said with the abundance of bluetooth headsets and hands free car kits I see it being of less concern.
I DO care about this, but I will still buy the Tour. However, I will actually use a wired (not bluetooth) headpiece as often as I can IF I expect to to make relatively long calls.

That's not that bad. FCC regulation max is 1.6W/kg in a 1g sample and there are plenty of devices out there close to the max. In the EU, the max is 2.0W/kg in a 10g sample. Again, many devices out there higher than the 1.43/1.72 SAR for the Tour.
My 8330 is 1.54 SAR, and my head isn't glowing yet.
I am just commenting on the really high sar levels output from the 9630. Interpret it the way you like.
But everybody knows FCC is making all sort of tests and regulating this out just for fun. Some countries also force providers to indicate SAR levels on all phone advertisement. Probably for fun too.

Seeing as your new to the site, and LOTS of people do care about their health and what this number means, I dont think this is a good way to represent yourself.
