Remove cover, remove battery for 30 seconds and reinstall for reboot.

Power should be on when you pull battery.

No, that is a soft reset. An actual battery pull is more effective.

While there is similar function in the two, a battery pull allows for the memory circuits to discharge fully and get the best complete reset.

Yup, jorGeorge and BergerKing have it right...alt+shift+del is considered a soft reset and pulling the battery is considered a hard reset.

How much battery drain does a battery pull use.I'm assuming it uses alot due to the long boot time

What would pulling the battery without the power on accomplish besides lightening the weight of the phone? The whole point is to remove the power source while your device is still running.

Use QuickPull. Much easier and you can schedule resets.

Power must be on to successfully execute the hard reset. If you turn off the device, the condition you are trying to reset is saved. With the power on, you discharge the circuits and normally clear the error that is causing you trouble.

Is it bad to do a hard reset or use Quickpull on a daily basis?

No, Unitas, I've had Quick Pull App active for 6 months with a scheduled trip at 0428 every morning. It hasn't been an issue at all.

It's probably not necessary to hard reset daily. But it doesn't cause harm, either. In fact, it is the recommended method in the manual for the occaisional problem that pops up.

Actually, doing it a second time as the screen turns back on is suppose to be equivalent to a battery pull.
