    1. Change the backlighting. I can still see it very well on the lowest setting.
    2. Adjust the screen blackout.
    3. Turn off auto update on the apps that use it.
    4. Used the app switcher by holding down the blackberry button and shut down apps that are running that you are not using.
    5. Turn GPS Location off when not in use.
    6. Turn Bluetooth off when not in use.
    7. Keep an eye on third-party apps that drain a lot of battery.
    8. Watch your email flow. I have about 7 email accounts on mine that I use quite frequently during the day. When I send and receive a lot of emails my battery tends to drop a little.
    9. Are you receiving a lot of MMS or other types of media?
    10. Is your browser left on a graphic rich website. Make sure to shut it down. I did notice that the browser never really closes but I try to close it out so that it goes back to the original page.
    11. Are you using a lot of data?
    12. Watch RSS reader apps and instant messenger apps.

Just keep in a mind those few things and see if anything improves. I kill the OEM battery by noon so I use a 1600 extended. That pretty much lasts me most of the day but I can use a charge around 8pm or so.
