Anyone know if it would be possible to change the color of the light around the trackball with an app like you could on the pearl? I think it would look awesome red or blue.

its a black ball so my guess would be no
not to be rude, but have you looked at it closely? its a black non see through ball, with a metal ring around it.... unfortunatly not but if it could i would turn it pink!!!!!

The track ball has a halo that lights up and I think thats what the original post was about and personally I was thinking the same thing that would be a nice custom touch if you could change the color of the halo
I think we will have wait for someone to do a disassemble to see if there is 1 light behind there for the track ball and how the trackball comes out

you could change the trackball to any clolor you want too. bad part is you will void your warrenty becuase to changeout the trackball, the entire phone has to be torn apart to get to it.
only the pearl has such a gay feature
You could probably do the sharpie on the LED trick if you wanted to risk it
Sharpie on the LED, but that will void your warranty as said. Only the pearl had the multi-coloured leds.
then again sharpie on glass easily comes off with a little rubbing alcohol.
what i always did on my curve was take some clear tape, color it on the non sticky side with a sharpie then let it dry. Fold it so sticky contacts the sticky sides and then use a toothpick and slip it in over the led, or in the 8330m's case, leds.
