On my VZW 9630 I was wondering which is the correct way (key) to exit things.

Should I always use the "close" option on the menu no matter what I am viewing?

Is the red end call button just for ending calls or can it be used to exit programs/downloads/apps so they stop running in the background? Or is it best to use the "escape" button for everything?

I'm getting there, slowly but surely with all of your help, thank you!

Using the "close" option is the best way to make sure you have closed out of a program fully. For most applications, backing out using the back (escape) key on the right side of the trackball will also close out the program, most of the time.

The red "end" button will never close you out of a program, it is strictly for ending calls. Picture the red end key like the minimize button on a windows pc. When you press the end key, it sends whatever program you're running into the background, like pressing minimize sends an open program to the taskbar on a pc, it stays running, it's just not in front of your face.
