I have tired all the ways to get it to light up when I get a new message. am I missing something??

I have done the :
Menu
Message Alerts
LED: on
save

and still nothing. anyone ??????

Are you using a custom theme? Sometimes that will alter your settings.

Try going into sounds icon, make sure normal profile is selected, then go to set ringtones/alert > messages > email > LED on.

Repeat steps for SMS and MMS.

Just a suggestion. Hope it helps.

Is the phone beadside mode? If so the led won't light.

nope its in normal mode. I have the same settings on both of my tour's. 1 works the other don't

If there's no apps responsible and you're sure that it's not in bedside mode, then I'm stumped - sorry I couldn't be of assistance! Did you reboot the device?

Recheck the bedside thing again, it's often confusing.

Do try a battery pull (if you haven't already) I've had this issue before and the battery pull worked for me.
