    When I receive a phone call and add to my contacts from that it automatically adds this phone number as a work number. Is there any way in which I can have it so it adds it to a mobile number?

    Nope. Not on the native software.

    There's a third party application that will do this, however.

    Or you can just copy and paste from one field to the other.

    Like said above, the standard firmware from RIM will only place the phone number into that field, unless it is already taken up.
