8350i to Sprint's Tour
Hey y'all. Considering the switch to a Tour from my 8350i on Nextel. (Go ahead, laugh at me. I know, worst Berry on the worst network ever. I use it for working at Disney, though!)
But Nextel is really driving me crazy as of late. The phone is even worse. I'm on my third handset. About to be the fourth, since this one will not make a call, even to my voicemail.
Just wondering how wise you think this switch is in terms of the phone's quality. I am seeing things about defective trackballs (but also that the problem has been fixed). Something about a green dot? I'm most likely going to have to buy from Craigslist or Ebay, and I am fairly certain that some people selling (especially on CL) won't know if they have a first or second production run of the Tour. Or am I incorrect in assuming this? Regardless, how do I know for sure I won't have purchased a janked unit?
Thanks for your input! Look forward to hearing some good news.
OH and I forgot! Have these 552 (or whichever) errors become relatively a non-issue now? I'm just worried about getting a Berry as unreliable as my current one. Thanks again :)

I made that same switch several months ago. If you don't need the dc, i say get the tour. Fwiw, my 8350 worked great cept for the call coverage, it had too many dead spots.

I am starting to use the DC a little more, but I think I can get along without it for the most part. I am just a little upset with the constant replacement units I am getting and the lack of service in my area. It gets worse every day.

I think the Tour is a great device. I used to have Nextel but was a little tired of the lack of coverage. Do you mainly use DC for work? If so, why not get a pre-paid service for that like Boost? I get coverage in my area with Sprint and the call quality is amazing for me. I haven't had any trackball issues either.
