Have you noticed a reduction in your battery life after switching to 5.0.0.419? Please identify the previous OS from which you switched.

I have noticed a slight decrease but I've also completely redone my Berry, including a new theme running BerryWeather, so I can't really isolate what caused it.

    Edit - didn't mention, I was running .230.

Running the same (or less programs, I close gmail app now when not using it) apps, I get 3-5% per hour. Before it never went above 4, unless I was using Telenav. Even with heavy texting, BBM, web browsing, it always hovered around 3-4%/hour, but now with heavy usage I get around 6-7% per hour

since changing to 5.0.0.419 my wife reports that her bb loses 1-1.5 bars after leaving it unplugged for the night whereas the previous o.s. showed a full battery after all night unplugged. That's all she's noticed so far.

My battery life is the same as when I had the 5.0.230_7.11 hybrid.

    And that...I am happy with.

My battery life actually seemed to improve a little going from .230 to .419...

Does being on a GSM network make any difference to being on a CDMA network with regards to battery life?

On a side note, signal seems to be better on .419 too.

each OS rapes battery life and battery life on my tour always sucked since i never put it down. But its well known that higher OS uses more battery life so it's no real surprise

Mine is not as good with either the .230 or the .419 as it was with the stock OS. Never was, that's disappointing.

I have been running it for a week, it's been a bit better than .230. Average loss per hour has been 3%.

I'm not so sure about that. YMMV but usually as newer OSs come out they get more aggressive with scaling back on power consumption, especially over the OS the device was released with. For example I've heard great reports that the newer leaked and official OSs for the 9700 make dramatic improvement in battery life. From personal experience when I had my 8900 I did see quite a jump in battery life by loading a newer OS.
I've also noticed that battery life reports vary greatly between not just users but between units of the same model. I don't know if some units just have a more efficient processor or if battery quality is an issue.
I had my best tour battery life running whatever 5.0 build leaked before .230. When I upped to .230 it fell off a bit, and hasn't gotten better with .419. I only ask that my Tour get me through the day as it recharges when I do. I have an extended battery to make sure that happens.

Well I tried to d/l Poynt and it nuked my berry (552 error) so I'm on the .419 bandwagon now! 5.0 is a bit of a yawner and I'm HOPING it doesn't mess up battery life because that's something the BB has too little of to begin with IMHO.

My battery life only seems a tiny bit worse, but I attribute that to being able to run BerryWeather without too much of a lag (but still a small one).

My .419 battery life is extremely bad, feels like 50%, max, of what it was with my previous OS which was the latest official 4.7 from VZW.

Really? What smartphones have you used that have much better battery?

.419 definitely has bad battery life. I'm using a hybrid with base .419 and the battery life is awesome. I can try looking for the link of the hybrid if you like.

I think you're reading more into that statement than is there It made no comparisons.
