Hi everyone--last night I updated to 4.7.61. It went fine, no problems, but now for some reason one of the shortcuts doesn't work: the alt-s one that switches from email to SMS. I tried digging around to find out if the update altered the shortcut buttons, but couldn't find any pertinent info. I have the sneaking suspicion that the answer is going to make me smack my forehead...but until then, does anyone know what's going on here?
ALT+P just opened my call log. ALT+S just opened my SMS log.
ALT+I opened incoming messages log, ALT+O same for outgoing.
ALT+V is Voicemail log. (Talk about almost useless!)
I have no idea what +T or +B should do, but they don't do it for me!
Are you doing this from within your Messages App?
i.e. not from your separated app/folder for SMS/MMS or email only?
Yeah sorry I stuck "alt" in front of t and b. But I did try alt-p, alt-i, alt-v; none of them work. Is there some "Disable Shortcuts" option that I can activate?
Messages
Menu
Search
Search Type: Local
Name: Fill in name you want to search for
In: Any Adderss Field
Service: Choose All Services
Folder: All Folders
Show: Sent and Received
Type: Pick what type of message you want to search
Options
Save
Title: Type a title for this saved ALT + Search
Shortcut Key: Choose what letter to save to (ALT+Z for example)
Now go into your message folder and hit ALT+Z (or whatever letter you picked) and you will see messages by that sender.
You can edit these filters in a number of ways. Just look at the drop down boxes to see the options.
This is how ALT +P brings up your Phone Calls. But you can use ALT+ J to bring up all messages from Jess for example.
Does this make sense to anyone? Seems like a lot of steps but once set up it is really handy for filtering messages from a specific sender or subject. i never lose my save searches when i do a battery pull but i know of one person that loses his once in a while after a pull.
