The 3g logo may never appear on a cdma device. They do not run on "3g" networks, they run on evdo-rev-a or b, they are 3g speeds, and are equivilant to 3g but in the end not 3g stick with the theme.

Not being mean, I actually want to know. Why does it matter if 3G shows on your phones? I see this alot and am wondering if it is just a preference thing or is it actually about the connection.

For me, personally, it's the style. 3G looks way better than 1XEV. I don't often hear "hey, buy yourself a 1XEV phone," but rather, "3G phone." Plus, that BlackBerry logo next to the 3G just gives it that nice design. I had the 3G symbol on the Tour when I went overseas and it looked awesome, for a lack of a better word. It's all a matter of preference...to each his own. It's a BlackBerry thing, no matter how weird lol
thanks I was curious. I guess that kind of stuff never occurred to me. I live in a rural area and am just glad I can get wireless lol how that wireless is labeled never mattered. I am sure even if there was 3G on the phone I wouldn't get it anyway since I would probably be in edge area anyway. lol
