Simply put... NO totally different networks.
No. Verizon is CDMA and the Torch is GSM/UMTS.

Or in laymen's terms..
One uses a sim card(at&t) the other does not.
Sorry Shansmi, But it took me a while on these forums before I actually knew what that meant, just figured I would make it a bit easier.
So what's this sim card in my tour for?

international use on gsm networks
it's for when you travel overseas that you *might* catch a carrier with the same gsm ban/frequency - i believe vodafone networks in europe
it will not work with the AT&T/T-Mobile GSM frequencies in the US
You are able to unlock the Tour 9630 and use it on AT&T or Tmobile when unlocked. It will only work on 2G.
Correct. Same goes for the Sprint Bold 9650, it comes unlocked already so you can stick an AT&T sim in and it will work on 2G only. These phones basically have 2 radios in them to allow them to be used on both CDMA and GSM networks. Phones that are strictly GSM (like the Torch) will not work on CDMA networks, and vice-versa.
