- I have been waiting for this day for w long time. I happy with this leak, and for the most part this is the touchscreen blackberry I desire..
Earlier we heard from BBleaks that production was imminent, and now it's September when we can get our hands on it???
Can some of the great minds here shed some light on why it would take this long?? Or if this is even true?01-14-11 02:10 PMLike 0 - because rimm is slow. or hadn't you noticed this before? when that comes out it will look average and ordinary.01-14-11 03:08 PMLike 0

- ChrisySeeker of the WayI was looking forward to this device for so long. September is too far past my upgrade to wait. By then, this BlackBerry will be outdated. Still a nice upgrade from the Tour. But I've decided to switch from BlackBerry in March.

Shucks, anyone here and on the forums has probably seen it already, and beginning to see them grow troll horns and scales. go get assimilated already!
For the BlackBerry crowd, the preliminary stats look like a large step up. Some will say it's not enough, others will whine about the battery, or the screen is a hair tweaked, or something. Criminy, it's better than a swift kick in the hoo-ha!

- September is too late!!
I know that leaks can't always be taken at face value, and I really hope that the release date info is something that turns out to be wrong.
Maybe a Sept. release for the Dakota/Apollo/Torch2 will be good... but I really hope this Monaco (which seems to be further along in production) will be released between March and May.01-15-11 07:16 PMLike 0 -
And as I said, it seems further along in production. And theoretically a September release would seem logical for the Dakota/Apollo/Torch2 when looking at when the current Bold/Curve3G/Torch1 devices were released.
The S2 was released over a year ago... and it would be really really disadvantageous if RIM were not to release a new touch-only device on VZW for 2 full years since the S201-15-11 07:27 PMLike 0 - Can the people that are gonna leave BlackBerry just leave without production credits or repeated posts of the same thing. So true about move on! When I left to Android I didn't sit and talk ish about BB or make a post, I am leaving...I just left...
Seems the cool thing to do now is talk ish about your Berry to Berry fans (most of us still are, I think.) And have to make it known I am leaving and why...who cares, just go...
Oh and those same people talked plenty of times about how good their berry did this and that...all to crap on it down the road.
Pot/kettle thang I suppose. Quite a bit of it on these forums unfortunately...heck even in this thread.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com01-16-11 11:23 AMLike 0 - Why is it taking so long?
It takes a while to finalize things and have them carrier approved.
Could they put better specs on it and even a front facing camera? Yes, but they aren't trying to compete for bleeding thin profit margins. They want to make good phones, that work, and make a profit.
People get so mad at RIM, its like my laptop, my tv, neither of them are top of the line specs from the year they were released. I will be ok.
September is also when a lot of people start back up school. So there are usually great promotions. I think this is also around the time cars are released. They will release a 2012 version of a car in the last 4 months of the year before it.
4G will be released, but what people dont know is. 4G is big, to put in a phone. Remember when BB would have a wifi only version or GPS only version?
4G isn't nation wide, yet. Im guessing it will be in most big cities around june next year. But for now, its not01-16-11 08:24 PMLike 0 - Crackcookie - look at VZW's LTE launch. It is in most major cities. And they are going from like 40 markets now to over 120 by the end of 2011. 4g on vzw is nationwide now, and will be pretty prevelant by year end. I love these argurments because if you all think there is no need for 4g now then there is really no need for 3g on att. The coverage areas are fairly close. I don't think all monaco's should be LTE but is they have a version on vzw it pretty much has to be, especially if it is in Sept.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com01-17-11 06:11 AMLike 0 - Like another poster said, RIM is slow by today's standards. They haven't changed with the times and, if it continues on the outdated business model, will suffer accordingly. Motorola is at the opposite end od the spectrum; a new device every 24 hours is a bit much.
the S2 was released over a year ago... and it would be really really disadvantageous if RIM were not to release a new touch-only device on VZW for 2 full years since the S2.
Imho RIM should be in high gear focusing on high end touchscreen phones because that is the market they are failing at. "Can't do that and make a playbook at the same time" you say?
Motorola isn't having a problem walking and chewing gum at the same time...

When "they" keep saying RIM can't focus on a new phone and a tablet at the same time, another company is actually doing it... when "they" say certain phone can't be made, another company is actually doing it... When "they" say the battery life is too short on the phones being made such that nobody will buy them, consumers are buying them like hotcakes!!!
The denial is almost enough to make you vomit. Come on guys, help make RIM get off its laurels, quit living in the past and get back to work.

Point 2: Again, correct. HTC, Motorola, both got dual-cores. Apparently even Apple is rumoured to be bringing out a dual-core iP5.
Point 3: Non-issue. I see so many non-BB devices being used more heavily than my own non-faulty device and OEM battery, with them also using the OEM battery, and then getting a truckload more battery life. And my BlackBerry 8520 has almost no features on it, so what gives?
