I called about 20 stores and found 1... Bell has lots if you are willing to switch carriers.
Very happy with the one I found though. :D
just go to toronto.
Why not just go to the website for Rogers and order one? Is that not an option with Rogers?
To say Im upset is an understatement, after commenting a few days ago on this page, indicating that a BIT of a discount or promotional pricing for someone who spends six thousand dollars a year on Rogers services would be appreciated, I decided I wanted the Torch bad enough that Im gonna spender up, pay up the $ 610.00 plus taxes and pick this baby up. Drove 15 miles to Londons White oaks mall Rogers store and asked if they had the Torch in stock. Yes they do !
Ill take one! OOps whats that ?, you have a plan?, sorry you arent eligible for an upgrade. I Know, I just want to buy it outright, Sorry, can;t do that, only sold on a new contract only.
When you can you sell one to me?, ( a 20 year customer) , Dont know. Its a sad state were into now. There are only 2 major players in town that can provide the average homeowner with their home phone, cell phone, internet and television. What am I going to do switch LOL, yeah sure, give me more of the same. They do this because they can, the switch to another provider is more pain than one can endure. Maybe one day a real alternative will surface, like what happened in the banking world, Presidents Choice Financial someone that offers a real alternative., So to you "Rogers", Please read it and take the message to your next meeting with the folks in the white shirts, nothing lasts forever, even their reign over us little folks. You can only tease a dog with a bone so long before it bites you. If you do post this , thanks for letting me unload ! Have a nice day. If there are spelling mistakes I apologize, was mad ya know !
OP- yes they are hard to find in my neck of the woods as well.
worktoomuch- not surprising at all, they make much more $ on renewals when locking people in on contracts for another 3 yrs.
Yes I know that,......... next time someone with a rogers uniform visits my gas station I won't approve the pump, when asked why "sorry you're a regular here, selling only to new customers, no gas for you.
hahahahaha!!!!! Too funny
I went to my rogers store the other day to see what they had for the torch, they didn't even have a dummy up yet!
lmfao that would be priceless...make sure to take pictures lol
I'm in Alberta and I had the same problem. I went to Rogers to buy one straight out and they wouldn't give it to me. New customers only. I ended up finding a different location that did sell it to me. They were super nice about it too and told me they aren't really supposed to insist on new customers only. That's the sales person holding out because they make a measly $35 on a new customer as opposed to nothing on a straight out buy. Call around and try to find a store with decent customer service.
If the dealer refuses to sell to you outright, call customer service on the spot and explain the situation to the. I guarantee you'll leave that store with a Torch.

Right you are my friend, called customer service, If the store refuses to sell to me I am to call customer service line from the store. I guess they make nothing by passing along a phone. But just so we're straight here, I've picked up from this store, 3 other contract phones, batteries, cases and my gateway.
Shame on you S.O.B.'s ! Just so we are all aware, it's the ROGERS store at White Oaks Mall in London Ontario. I'm going elsewhere.
Thanks for the advice. Got one in Brockville..2nd last one they had.
Robbers should stop advertising that is $609 without a contract then if it seems too hard to just buy one outright. Stupid
