The outside of the box that my Torch came in says that the handheld was made in Canada 1. What does that mean?

Thank you for indulging my ignorance.

Some are made in Canada, some in hungary and some in mexico.

    I might be wrong.

It means your phone was manufactured in canada. Which I hear has less issues in build quality than Mexico or hungary

    Thanantos,

Does the 1 have any significance? Are there several BB manufacturing in Canada? Just curious.

I had a Bold 9700 that was made in Mexico and I never had a problem with it. In fact, if it hadn't met an untimely death I would still have it. I loved that phone.

There was a thread here with torch country and manufacturing problems. It isn't based on anything other than general observation but there a lot of posters that found more problems with mexican torches. Not sure what the number is exactly. Could be manufacturing plant number or a build number.

The number represents the plant meaning there are at least 4 plants in Mexico as I have heard of 1, 4 and 5.

Wouldn't that mean there are atleast 5 in Mexico? 1,2,3,4,5? Unless they don't do it like that, and just pick random numbers. O_O Either way, that would make sense. I was really hoping mine was made in Canada though.

Mexico 4 here, and I believe the general con consensus was the plant number or line number in which they were assembled.
