    Yeah I know it doesn't make Apple immune. It just makes them immune from those problems.

    do you know how i could tell if it is a refurb or new?

    ask them directly. On my refurb 8900 it said it was refurbished in the about screen and the date it was refurbished. Not sure if that's what still happens, that was last year.

    Quality Control for most products now is a joke..especially for Gadgets.
    everyone is racing to be the First one to release with this and that feature..
    and they can always send you a replacement if ever you get a lemon.

    I maybe alone in this but I do feel refurbished ones get more quality control than the new ones. They receive an extra check before being shipped to you
