I've had the Torch since the begining in August, and I'm currently running 6.0.0.337. I love the phone, but it has been a little glitchy over it's life. The .337 helped, but I've been patiently wainting for a new leaked or official os upgrade

No issues here either. Still looks as beautiful as when I received it. I enjoy having the best of both worlds!
Mine has been great. Even with dropping it twice on tile floors (the last time chipped the bezel) the phone is rock solid. With the chip I decided to get the Seidio Innocase Surface combo holster and it is great!
The OS is great, browser is fast, and I keep discovering the BB Way...shortcuts and stuff that make this a great work and play phone. Oh, yes, and like any phone should be, calls are crystal clear!
Mine is a champ. I've had it since launch day in Canada. Battery is great (at least 12 hours with a good amount of usage), slider is solid, and screen has no scratches. I like to keep mine naked and carry it in a holster on my pants pocket.
The only slightly annoying thing is the battery door creaks a bit.
I really like the phone, definately the best i've had but its ruined by:
The wobly screen (feels like a Storm 2 unless i put electrical tape on the back of the screen);
Podcasts not working in the UK;
Ringtones not working in the UK;
A lot of apps that worked on my Bold and Storm are not available;
OS lags even with no apps loaded;
Virtual keyboard is very hard to use because it lags so much even after a reboot(and after a clean install - post factory reset);
Video playback is rubbish (sound loses sync 2/3 of the way through evey video;
Keys either side of the trackpad feel cheep and loose (light leakage around the keys).
On the up side:
The screen is great;
BBC iplayer and mobile TV works a treat;
Once i got used to the keyboard its fine;
Battery life great (not as good as the bold) but still get about 1.5 days out it even with GPS and WiFi turned on constantly;
Speaker is very good;
GPS locks very quickly;
Signal is great.
All in all i still like it but i've just gotten out of my contract with Orange due to their bad service so i admit that despite being a crackberry addict for the last five years i'm considering looking for a similar style of phone but with Android on it (haven't found anything yet).
I haven't had any issues with mine. Screen cover and a case keeps it protected. It runs smooth as butter if you maintain it right.

Hi People. Just want to know if The Torch is really the way for me to go. The BB9700 is working for me well and happy with it, but that large screen keeps calling for me.
So, I need to know if you are really happy with the Torch? The heft of the weight, its got some to it! How you carry it, in purse, pouch, case or not? Some real practical advice from you all of different walks of life; students, office workers, IT peoples, mechanics and soccer moms
I love my Torch (have had it just under two weeks now). I keep it in a pouch in my pocket most of the time and find no issue with it from a size/weight perspective.
I think I'm OCD. Please tell me I am so I don't go exchange it and live with it!
I purchased a Torch a couple of weeks ago. I noticed the trackpad wasn't very responsive so I took it back and swapped it out for the one I am using now. The very first thing I noticed was that the 4 buttons surrounding the trackpad are a lot stiffer then the Torch I originally had.
The buttons, BB Key, Back, etc., have never been as stiff as these are on the Torch and quite honestly it irks me! They respond as they should, but they just don't feel right. I've had just about every BB model for at&t and have never had any hardware related issues. Anyhow, do you folks think the buttons will break in and soften up?
Am I being OCD, lol? Or, should I try to return it?
Thanks!
I have a stiff menu button, but there's no point in exchanging it because it works.
My sliders getting pretty bad. Started about a week or 2 ago and its getting worse. :(
Knew it was gonna happen. Not sure what Im gonna do. Might go iphone and try it out might go 9780, might just see if I can get it fixed.
Ykno now that you mention it, I guess mine are kinda stiff too, I never really thought about it before and I don't know anyone else with a torch for comparison. If I press the menu button too hard it will push send, just as the back button if pressed too hard pushs end.... Always kinda bugged moe..... I wonder if those ones you can buy from cnn.cn are any softer... Might be worth a shot, they're cheap and easy to install
About 2 weeks ago, slider started to wobble, especially when its open (was pretty solid before). Also, the crackling sound on the bezel when you type (mostly when i press enter) is also getting worse. The slider action was more anticipated because it is a moving part. But the bezel, hmmm, pretty much low quality build. Hope my phone lasts for two years.
That is exactly what happened to me! I was the same way about the touch screen until I saw the commercial and fell in love! LOL My contract was up in late November, so we just went ahead and bought the Torch since the Husband Person had already taken ownership of my Curve 8310 when the Display went out on his cheap LG non-smartphone LOL
It has held up great and I am much harder on this phone than I was on the Curve. We do a lot BBM and I ALWAYS use the touch screen and I'm getting really good at it now too.
Love my red Torch! I don't need the iPhone, I have my Torch :P

Slider is bad? How so? Loose? wobbly? Is that an issue with the Torch?
New Question...."How are your sliders?"
Hi GeoK - I love my Torch! The weight isn't a problem for me and I think it helps to balance the phone when the kb is out - very well balanced for a vertical slider.
I carry mine in my purse. No case, but I use a holster that was made for a different phone (it gets the job done).
I have gone back to school so am doing work part time while back to full time student as an adult routine.
My phone is good and no "wobble" problems thus far! I thought there might had been a little with the first Torch I had but didn't know for sure as I never had a slider before. The reps didn't answer me, they just switched out my phone. The one I have now is good and solid!
Hope that helps you a little! :)
