I had the same problem: look under "Advanced Style Options", is the first check box for Prediction checked? (I have version 278.)

Where'd you get 278? The newest leaked version is 246.

I had the problems where it wouldn't save when I was running 225. Seems to be fixed in 246.

I guess I didn't know which part of the version you were talking about. I have what it came with:

    BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.278 (English)

    Package Version: 6.0.0.278
    Consisting of:
    Applications: 6.0.0.141
    Software Platform: 6.4.0.64

You are on 141. When talking about versions you use the applications version number.

The predictive text thing worked for me on .141 and also on .214. Never tried .225 but when I upgated to .246 it stopped working. I can change it to predictive but it does not seem to want to save. I had precisely the same apps on .214 as on .246.

This is totally bizarre! I bought a 2nd torch....the new one has predictive out of the box and with .225. The old one can't get predictive even when wiped and rolled back to the original OS. With the original OS, it can save predictive, but it still doesn't work. I can't fathom whats causing such behavior, but it seems some hardware must be involved, no?

Well Torch #2 lost the ability to save predictive for the physical keyboard after loading .246. Anyone else?

It seems like I'm the only one who cares about this, but if anyone else cares going from .225 to.246 screwed up the predictive/direct options. Worked perfectly on .225. On .246 it got stuck..once once on predictive and once on direct (reloaded the OS). On rollback to .225 all is well again. Think I'll stick to .225 for a while!

Guys, would you please check whether the direct/predictive option saves and functions on .246...this glitch is still bothering me! Thanks.

I am on .246 and I can change the physical KB to predictive, and it saves fine and works fine w/o a battery pull.

Thanks. Can't imagine what's causing my issue. Can some others test this?

Works fine for me on 246. For me, it didn't work on 225.
