Anyone have an official price for the 9800 without a contract?

I purchased my 9700 last year without one and I am looking to do the same with the 9800....

You are a bit early, my friend. The phone cannot be had today for any price as it has not been released yet. When it does become available have no fear, it will have a price tag on it.

    Haha! Thanks

I just read in the FAQ that AT&T's Facebook page posted it would be $499 without a contract; so there you go....

    Time to sell my 9700!

$499.99 is reasonable without a contract.

if only they had the typo that the 9700 had when it came out online and people were able to get it for 299 w/o contract.

I hope this is the case as I would love to pick one up next week, how easy would it be to get it unlocked for use in UK?

Easy. Give it a couple days for unlocking sites to update.

You can get one for $275 with an Early Upgrade. Call a near AT&T store; do NOT call AT&T directly because they will say the Torch cannot be bought with an Early Upgrade.

It is amazing to me that anyone could consider $499 a reasonable price for any smart phone let alone a Blackberry which lags behind others in cutting edge technology (processor, memory, screen res, housing materials, etc.).

Don't get me wrong, I love my 9700 but I am an informed consumer who chooses to stick with Blackberry for email and physical QWERTY.

I find 499 is way too expensive for that phone. 299 would be more of a reasonable price
