    Hello all,

Just got the Torch and coming from a 9700. I wasn't planning on getting the torch just yet, but after a long bout with AT&T I was offered the upgrade and took it. I just have a few quick questions to you all with the torch and beings I am OCD with my Berry's, I just want to make sure this isn't an issue and if it is I would like to take care of it now. So I come to my fellow Crackberryians for your wisdom to see if its the phone or am I crazy haha!

First impression of unpacking and using I think the Torch is pretty solid, I do not have any wiggles, the slider is pretty tight, but one of the things that I noticed is that on the front screen where the keys are the right side isnt really flush, I.E if I run my finger down the front screen to the keys I hit a bit of a lip, don't get me wrong, its not real outrageous but its only on the right side, almost if that part that covers the end key etc is about to pop off.
I also noticed a bit of a sound when the bottom key area is touched, almost like a sticky sound as if it is going to peal off. Are any of you having or noticing these things?

Also wanted to see if any of you had gotten a case for it yet? I just purchased the mobi store one and I have to try it again today, yesterday I didn't have much of a chance to play with it, but when I put it on, the back part didn't really seem to stay on it on the left side. So I am going to see today if I didn't have it on correctly. But if you are using a case, what kind are you using or what would you recommend? As well as screen protectors too, I would like to get one, but I just want one for the screen not the whole phone itself.

If you are using the social feed with RSS, is there a way to delete the ones you already have seen? If you don't delete them, does it hog up memory?

Also is there a way to highlight all when going to messages from the closed front screen to delete or does that only happen when you have it open and use the keyboard?

Thank you for reading and look forward to hearing back! Have a great one!

Hey, Link.... I'm a new Torch user too. I bought a case on the recommendation of the store rep and promptly returned it the next day. I've never dropped my BB and as such, have never been a fan of cases. I did get the privacy screen protector though. Just a thought I'd pass your way. Torch on!

TAKE IT BACK. Swap it for one without the lip. You don't have to take crap.

    Link995,
I have the official blackberry case that I purchased here on this site. Its durable, the design quality exceeded what i expected, and it looks cool. I also have a skin from zagg. I have the full body skin. I had a privacy screen from handhelditems.com but the screen was too thick and I could not use my touchscreen at all while the privacy screen was applied. I hope this helps.

I'm a new Torch user too and I had the 9700 but with the upgrade offer AT&T gave me I couldn't resist.

You may want to contact the store where you purchased your Torch to see if those issues are "normal". If I were you, and since I'm assuming it hasn't been 30 days since you purchased it, I would go ahead and ask for a new one. Best to play it safe than to be sorry a few months later.

As far as the case goes, I got the OtterBox (sold in AT&T stores). I really like this case - hard shell and it is doing a good job protecting my Torch so far. The screen protector - I didn't like the Zagg Shield (screen only) and bought AT&T's anti-fingerprint/anti-glare screen protector.

The buttons near the trackpad will have a bit of play in them but not very much. I have the OEM leather holster and my Torch goes commando.

Well I ended up calling AT&T and told them my issue and that I would like another new Torch. So they ordered it and I will get it on Monday. I didn't think I would like the Torch because of the Slider and all the bad things I have been hearing, but I have to say I REALLY like it. Still trying to learn the new menus, but none the less I would recommend this phone to someone on the market OR at least say try it out for yourselves and judge for yourself.

The button I have, I know there should be some lee way but I am not going to take a chance with the lip thing and one side being lifted up after reading peoples plates are popping off.

I will have to look into all these cases. I was leaning towards the otterbox one but I read a couple places that the front doesn't stay on @dreamberry, have you had any issues?

So for now I have till wait till Monday, but that gives me time to learn my new addiction. Thank you very much for your feedback, I will keep checking back for more info on cases and screen protectors!

As far as cases are concerned, last night I received the Blackberry OEM Leather Pocket Pouch from the Crackberry store, which just became available earlier this week and it's nearly perfect for me. The only thing that's preventing it from being absolutely perfect is that it doesn't allow for charging, using an micro USB cable, while it it in the case as I used to be able to do with my Bold 9000.

There is also an OEM holster available from the Crackberry store that's nearly identical to the pocket pouch. It has the belt clip and a top strap with a magnetic enclosure.

Both cases have a magnet in the correct place for the Torch to work with the in/out of holster functions. Many of the aftermarket cases don't have the magnet in the correct place for the Torch.

I'm so glad you called and will be getting a new replacement! It's no fun to worry whether you ended up with a semi-defective phone. Best to get it taken care of.

My Otterbox stays put, no problems at all. Front stays in place and so does the one on the back. It really is a sturdy shell. Whatever you do, I wouldn't recommend the "rubber-y" kind. Get a hard case. I think I should have purchased the one with the pink lining.

I'm still playing around with my Torch - discovering new things every day. It's fun
