New Torch Owner...
Hey crackberry folks!
I have just bought my bb 9800...got it on contract for 25 per month...which is a bloody bargain!
I'm getting it for christmas though, so I want to know what is there to know about the torch...ie any problems with it? First things to do when I get it? Etc etc etc
Thanks in advance

Nice one !
Sorry I can't offer any advice as yet as I'm still sitting on the fence deciding which BB to go for . I'd ruled out the Torch for myself as I didn't want a touch screen and was stuck between the 9780 & 9105 - BUT I've been looking on Youtube at the various reviews etc and I'm starting to swing towards one ! I'd read quite a bit of bad reports about the 9800 on this forum but the newer software seems to have solved alot of the issues (?). So I'm really looking forward to hearing your opinion on it ,are you staying with Orange ?( I'm with Orange) Did you up-grade ? (over the phone or in the shop ?) Your 25 p/m looks good ! 24 mths ?
Sorry to hi-jack or go off topic with your thread ,
Garry

Hey jesper, congrats on your new 9800. First thing to do if you have a big music library is ditch the 4GB media card and get at least a 8GB. As for problems, I have had mine a week, and have not encountered any. Check the threads here for some nice apps, and feel free to download away, the 9800 has a ton of memory-enjoy!!

I have always been a BB user and coming from all previous Bolds I was concern about the touch screen feature when I decided to switch to 9800 ( I need my kb that is why I have been a bb loyalist). The switch: surprisingly the switch was not that bad. The 9800 still has the kb and optical track pad so typing long messages or scrolling through menu is a breeze, just like my former 9700 and 9000. The touch screen was a plus in terms of navigating through web browsing. The new os 6 is definitely an improvement and this reflects in your web browsing experiemce. Some of the issues or pet-peeves that other might have written about I can hoonsely say I really never experienced myself. I take care my bb like the way I take care my car. I read instruction before installing app so if you are this type of person then I am sure you will enjoy your torch. I have a 6gb data plan so o am looking fwd to getting a pb so it can be a companion with my torch.
