While on my way to work, at 8:05am today, KOOL FM announced that RIM put a 1 week hold on the launch of the new Torch (for all carriers) for today. That's all they said.
ok so i just got off the phone with rogers customer retention because they asked me to call in today to check if if CR had stock for them to be able to mail me a 9800.
the guy came back after putting me on hold for 2 minutes saying that CR doesnt have stock right now and it usually takes a few days after launch depending on how popular the phone is. so i asked him, if the launch was today because ive been hearing the 30th and he said no, the launch is today. I told him I've been seeing the 30th on-line and he said again no the launch is today.
if i wasn't eligible for an upgrade id prolly be going store to store right now.

So did you get a chance to pre-order your Torch this morning through CR ? if so a lot of people will be calling in

nope basically I have to call everyday to find out when CR receives stock. as CR always gets stock a few days after a launch, he said he would set a call back to call me in 1 week, but I will prolly call monday and everyday after that until they send me the GD phone.
it would be alot easier if i could walk into a rogers store, have the rep at the store call in to get confirmation of my upgrade and have the rogers store give me the 3 year pricing and then head office could reimburse them.
i guess that would be to much to expect from a billion dollar company.
I jus got of the ph with CR, i had to call billing and get them to transfer me because CR doesn't open till 9am PST...so any ways CR told me they dont have any stock till the 30th.....

oh well, i don't care if you believe me to be honest, i know what i saw, and shared it. believe me, i would not be bothered to spend time making that up.
Once you get passed the touch factor, what does it do besides browse the web better then say a 9700? (my last phone) .. nothing. I have actually found it to be less ergonomic and more cumbersome. Not to mention the multiple issues with the hardware and software.
