I think RIM will not advertise much for the torch until it actually releases here in canada. I heard they spent lots of money advertising in the u.s. which makes sense because of they market they have there. i think most canadians love their blackberries and i dont think rim is worried about their home turff.
spoke with a bell store manager yesterday - said that she hadn't received her shipment yet - but launch was still expected this friday! fingers crossed

He says the official release date from carriers is 24th confirmed
However it now depends on stores themselves as to whether they want it shipped for Friday or Monday
100% confirmed?? I hope so. As far as units go, i think they'll have enough for the masses. I mean this phone is not for everyone and i think a lot of peeps are happy with their 9700's, iphone4's and android devices. Me, i will stick to blackberry no matter how advanced android and iphones get. i just love blackberry and it does everything i need it to do.

Does that mean all carriers? Including Bell? If it is I'm so excited.
Now if only my idiotic IT department could confirm that they will be able to set it up on our corporate server and the Slow slow HR could decide what carrier we will be forced to go with. MAYBE ill be able to get this phone on friday.
I just emailed a complaint about customer service to the office of the president of rogers hahaha. Then after work i'll be calling customer service again. I want this phone!
Imma be calling Best Buy tomorrow..hoping to get some info to see if they have some in stock. I'm hoping that maybe if I slip the guy some $$ he'll get the phone to me a day early.
The store people didn't even know they were taking pre orders. Also arnt you on bell. In your case it is most likely oct 1st. Either way no one here knows anything officially. The ONLY official word is Rogers and telus are releasing on the 24th.

Well just called my local telus store they still have no idea. I dropped the 24th date and they said they are hoping to hit that day. So here's to hoping 2 days Canadians will be able to fire up the torch!!
