Getting mine from my local cellcity guy,Steve. Have had 4 BB now and am so looking forward to this one. Played around with an American one in the states,and was floored by it,and now with Telus screenshots showing it being released with.214 im even more excited.
I'll be picking one up on the 24th to replace my 9530 which has given me a good run with the helpful tips and tricks i've learned here on crackberry. I'm still under contract so i will be buying it outright.
I'm getting mine on opening day at Metrotown before I go to work. Maybe I'll see some crackberrians there. :P

I don't think you're going to have to worry about them being sold out. To be honest, I think us Crackberrians are the only ones who know this thing is being released on the 24th. There's been little, if any marketing or advertising in Canada on this device.

I know Best buy at a location doesn't have that much people reserve for the 24th
Sasktel has tweeted and announced on their Facebook page that the Torch will be available by the end of this month. I'm hoping the 24th, as they purchase wholesale from Bell. I have that day off as well, so it would be nice to have the whole day to play. My current phone is the Pearl 8130. Never had any interest of leaving the Blackberry family...
Anyone in Canada know how new phones arrive at Bell/Telus/Rogers/Sasktel/Other? If the Torch is being released the 24th, does it arrive the 24th? a week prior? Is it sporadic? When would the tester be available for trial in the store? the day of?

I know Telus gets them a couple days before release. It is sporadic, some stores will have them before others. Policy is to not have demo units out for customers until release date.
I'm in Alberta and have mine on preorder from Best Buy. I'm still rocking a Storm 9530 and while its been a nice phone I'm definately looking forward to an upgrade. I will be there as soon as the store opens..although working in the oilpatch I have no guarantees that I'll even have the day off (in which case I'll have to book it off).
I'll definately be giving the Torch a good test run to see how it fits my needs before my 14 days is up. My biggest concern is that its going to be a little too familiar to my S1. I've been staring at this screen now for 1 1/2 years..and while many users are liking the screen size upgrade..to me its the same. I'm really hoping the resolution is at least better than what I see now.
Either way I'm super pumped about it! I've been reading these 9800 forums daily since the release to monitor peoples thoughts about it and can't wait! I only wish some people would post more Youtube vids showing the Torch with the latest .214 to tide me over til the release.

While the Torch is a terrific upgrade from the Storm 2 for me in every way I have to say the screen resolution is exactly the same as the Storm 9530 and the Storm 9550 (I have had both) To me this phone is superior to any smartphone that I have had which includes all the Palm Treo's, BB 8700, 8800, 8320, 9000, 9530, 9550, 9700, iphone 2g, iphone 3g & iphone 3gs. Hope this gives you a bit of insight.
i have mine as well. couldn't wait. got the AT&T and unlocked it and running on Telus. no probs at all works amazingly. with the latest leaked os is a must update! completely transforms the phone! now runs as good as the 9780.
