After I heard about the Torch's scheduled release next month I called into customer service to confirm that I would be elligible for an upgrade in August. Here is how the conversation went:
Me: I think I can upgrade my phone next month. Can you double check for me?
CS: Yes, you can upgrade any time after the 20th of July.
Me: Oh good, I heard that there is a new BB coming out next month.
CS: we haven't been told anything about a new BB.
Me: Thanks for the "official" response, but leaked documents shown on CrackBerry's front page say differently.
CS: (laughing) Yes, there is a new BB suposed to be released in August sometime. I don't have the exact date but I have held the phone and played with it and it is awesome.
That's pretty much how it went. I guess take it for what it's worth or with a grain of salt. I just thought I would share.
