whatever....that isn't how it worked with the 9700 section, as all offical and unoffical (leaked) OS updates were in the 9700 thread. Going back to the 9000, I've never had to even look in the BETA OS section for any OS updates.

Hey guys, new to the Blackberry scene and new to the site. Stumbled across this thread while looking for a fix for the tin/rattle sound in the speaker.

Here is a link to the download, just select the device and it brings you to it.

    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do

I'm about to install it onto my Torch, hoping it does indeed fix the rattle issue!

    Found some more links:

Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: 9800M_PBr6.0.0_rel615_PL6.4.0.99_A6.0.0.225.exe

Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

I haven't tested all the files only tested the first one, basically just googled the filename and found a whole bunch...good luck upgrading

Key word is Offical. I painfullly learned that here.

In the 9800 thread (this one) you will only find RIM Offical released OS updates, which there are NONE to date for the 9800.

You can upgrade to an leaked OS, but you'll need to go to this link, located in the OS Beta thread area,

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/os-...3/index18.html

I'm on 225 and it fixed all of my issues.

RIM doesn't officially release OSes or updates, carriers do after they field test them and approve them.

Supposedly .214 will be the shipping OS on the Canadian units next week, which if true you will see an official release of the OS from at least one of those carriers any time now. Still better to upgrade to .225 though, as it addresses known bugs in .214.
