    Hi,

Have googled and looked at pictures but cannot find an answer. Does the Torch have a hole for a lanyard ( Like the Javelin and the Bold ) ?

    TIA

FWITW, I did not think either of those had holes designed for lanyards either.

The original Bold has a lanyard loop, bold 2 and wanna be bold 3(9650) do not.

And the 9800 doesn't either, its not in the new sleek bezel design.

Stll no lanyard hole like the 9000

EDIT: added image from another post on here incase people don't understand the topic.

Considering the form-factor overhaul, I'd say 9700 is the GSM Tour with a trackpad.

edit: I didn't know BB had lanyard loops

Lanyard on a phone? i think the bluetooth devices killed the lanyards on phones.
you can now have your phone safely in its hoster or on your pocket while answering and making calls.

Exactly! There's only been one true Bold and that's the 9000. The 9700 is tiny compared to the 9000, doesn't sound very bold to me... RIM just wasn't bold enough to come up with a new name for the 9700.

I think there's all this hate towards the 9650 because 9700 owners are but-hurt because their beloved "flagship" device is no longer relevant anymore. It still doesn't have BlackBerry 6 and once the 9780 drops the 9700 will be just be another phone in RIM's museum.

As for the lanyard, I don't get it either, but I've seen a few females get some use out of them. Whatever floats your boat though...

The 8900 and 9700 have them and if you keep your phone in a jacket pocket a short lanyard makes it much quicker / easier to retrieve from pocket. Hence the question.

And with lanyard slipped round your wrist. less chance of it falling... Works great on the 9000, especially for the more clumsy among us. A friend should have had one on his ip4. Dropped a few feet onto a carpeted floor and died...

I'm totally new - so sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but it was the closest I could find to my question and I didn't want to post a new topic.

It sounds like there is absolutely no strap loop for the Torch anywhere on the 9800 (or if there is one, it's very well hidden and not yet discovered) - so can anyone recommend a case for the Torch that does have a lanyard loop?

The available pouches/holsters won't work for me and having the option for a wrist strap is actually somewhat of a "must" for my next phone choice.

    Thanks!
