    Hi,

I'm living in the Netherlands, but I'm going on a vacation next week. And I've heard that the carrier charges extra money even when you are not on the internet, but when your blackberry is just on.
So is there an way, that i can put that off? So that I can still call and sms and make photos, but my blackberry doesn't go on the internet automaticly?
I've seen something about put it to 2G mode, but does that really work?

    Thanks

Go into options > network and connections > mobile network

From here turn off data while roaming (this will stop any data connection when your on another providers network) and when you leave for your trip turn off data services (just in case) as well.

By doing this you turn off all mobile data connections but you can still make calls. Also, if you find a wifi connection somewhere you'll still be able to connect and send/receive data for free

Thanks a lot for your quick reply! But do you know if I have to switch 2G on? It's now on 3G.

2G is still data and you will be charged the same rate as using 3G. It will save battery life though.
