hidden text messages and receiving triplicate texts

Hi - I have a BB Torch and have just recently been unable to view text messages even though it shows that I have new texts at the top of the phone. If I pull the battery out, once it reboots it will show the text message but then I receive triplicates of the same text. Has anyone else experienced this or can suggest a solution?

are you sure it's a text message?

They could be emails from BIS notifying you that you've successfully set up your email accounts. If that's the case, try going into Messages (not the individual email accounts or the text message app) and search for an unread messages manually or by hitting "u" on the keyboard.
