i need some help to get me pop3 account account working on my new blackberry 9800.
i have tried to do it in the webmail option and via the phone but can not get it to work.
i have copied the same details from my out look 2003 but still it comes up with a invalid message all the time.
does any know about these things.
Can you type what the invalid message says? invalid user? invalid password?
cannot connect to email server or invalid server name:
please verify the server name.if the name. if the error persist contact (your email provider)
Is it by chance a Yahoo account?
no it is a pop 3 account i use for work.
Do you have any IT (computer) people at your work to help you with it? Without knowing what your server information is, it is hard for us to help :(
do you have a data plan ?
can you go on the internet with your phone ? like crackberry.com ?

yes internet is fine. the last black berry i had worked fine to. orange have now killed my old sim and deleted all my last email data from the server website.
carullo she is trying to add an existing account, not setup a blackberry email account. The link you gave is to setup a blackberry account so you can have an [email protected] address. She wants to add her work account to her phone if I understand her correctly.
was it a restore from your old phone ? maybe you just need to send the service book again. do that by going in Setup, Email Account, when you see your email, select it, press the menu button, select Service Books, and click on Send service book
when u log in to bis site it will give u the option to add an existing account (pop) and /or a blackberry email>>>>>at least it did for me as i also set up a pop account through there.....

yes i used the Add an existing email account (e.g. Yahoo!�, Google�, Microsoft� Exchange)
type in my username and password to the email account followed be this message
The email address or password is incorrect, or we need more details to set up this email. Retype the information or provide additional settings.

still says username or password is wrong.
when you type your username do you just type username or whole address? Sometimes you may need to type your whole address as your username and see if that works.
yes the whole email address is the username.
