Hi Guys,
I deleted a bunch of ringstones etc on my 9800 through the USB connection. However, the files still show in the list of Ring Tones. How do I remove them from the list and the phone to make sure they are completely gone?
Thanks

If you're talking about the OEM ringtones that came with the phone you'd have to remove the .cod that contains them before installing the OS.
Actually I did not explain well enough, so please forgive my ignorance. I download some ring tones and installed them. They were a bunch of junk so I deleted them from the Blackberry Ring Tones folder by accessing the folder through the USB removable disk which is my memory card. However, on the phone it shows the tones are still there. If you schroll over one it gives you an error bla bla. What I am trying to do is get these rings tone names removed off the phone since I manually removed them off the card. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Have you done a battery pull to reboot your phone since doing this?
I had this problem happen to me once. I went into the ringtones folder and tried to play the ringtone - doing this just reassured me that the file was really gone. When the listing for the tone wouldn't go away, I did a battery pull (making sure it was out for 15-20 seconds at least). That solved the problem for me.
Hope it works for you. It's annoying to have tones listed that aren't really there anymore!
You guys ROCK! Thanks Jeffreii & ShoshiOne!!
Problem SOLVED!!!!
The media card has to re-scan, which it usually does on a reboot.
