    the new torch 2 spec comes out. as you know, torch 1 lacks compass, and others. can you make torch 2 out of torch 1 SW wise? Similar to 9780 vs 9700?

    Yep.

    Sell the Torch 1 and buy a new Torch 2.

    It is the only way but it works 100% of the time.
