Anyone have issue where the caller id doesn't display the name even when the number is associated to a contact? Im pretty sure it worked up until a few days ago, very strange.

did you put the numbers in your phone like this IE: 555-555-5555 instead of 5555555555 ?
c'mon Crackberry Nation, there has to be a better answer to this question. I have 400+ contacts and I do NOT feel like going through every one of them to make sure I have the phone numbers properly xxx-xxx-xxxx instead of my old habit of (xxx) xxx-xxxx. It works properly about 75% of the time.. that can't be the answer. Don't fail us.
I'm actually installing .225 as we speak and praying it fixes this issue.. I'll report back, but in the meantime, do what you do best.. find a fix :D
my 9700 does the same thing, it's weird, sometimes it registers the names, sometimes it doesn't. When I open the call log I can see the names in there. Just toally weird. I thought it was just my 9700 but when I got the bold, the very first call I got didn't register.
Strange.. I've used a 9700 and 9000 for the past 2 years and never had this issue.
Alright ladies and mentlegen, I upgraded to .225 and then .246. The issue is now up to 100% of the time. I never, ever see the name of the person calling, just the number. The weird thing is that if I go IMMEDIATELY to the call log, it shows the names as it's supposed to.. So I have to ignore the call then go to the call log to see who's calling me.
If no one has a fix for this, I would like to try to wipe the OS and install .246 from scratch. My problem there is that everything I read about this process is to use JL_Cmder or w/e it's called. For that I have three questions..
1. Has this been tested with the Torch? I'm worried as I can't find any posts about someone using this with OS6 and/or the Torch.
2. Where the **** can I download the newest version? I Googled it since everyone just says to do a search.. and maybe I'm slow but I can't find a FREE download site.
3. What IS the newest version?
Thanks for any halp, you addicts. Love you.

Dude I have the same issue but it's not the OS. My 9700 does it too all the time. Sometimes it register, sometimes it doesn't. The torch does it as well so I just get used to it you know. Been waiting for a fix on this but no one knows. I called ATT and they have no idea on how to fix it, it's not part of their "cheat sheet"
ti don't have that problem.. on the Bold 9000 and on the Torch..
i never used AT&T addressbook...
so did you guys SYnc with that? wireless sync?
Go to Options->Security->Encryption and make sure 'Include Contacts' is NOT checked. I've seen people with the same issue and this is usually the culprit.
from my experience, i changed the calling country area code to unknown, which takes out the +1 to all the phone numbers, and also with the length of the number , change it from 10 to 12....i forgot where the option was....but search around....hope that helps...
I could kiss you right now.

Yay, had the same problem with my Torch, and came here to find a fix. I haven't been able to test it yet, but it sounds like that was my problem too. Thanks!
