So when I bought the phone one of the things I love(as I did with all my rim products) was that the call quality and volume were great. For the first week or so I actually had to turn the handset volume down-never the case with my other phones which were always set to max.

Recently the phone seems to have gotten quieter, this started after the .214 update and has only gotten worse. I tried to downgrade to .114 again-wow that was an eye opener- but the volume hasn't gotten any better.

Call volume is set to 100%, I've tried using the hearing aid thing to enhance it, tried between normal, bass boost, and treble boost all to no avail. Tried using come compressed air to clean out the speaker opening thinking some dust may have gotten in (on a side note very recommended for the keyboard as there are bigger gaps than the bold and curves and allows in a lot of debris), and nothing

has anyone who's updated to .225 noticed an increase in the call volume?

thinking of trading it in for another torch if I can't straightened out, hate having to literally press the phone into my ear to hear it.

(and no it's not my hearing, use my house phone, blue tooth head set for work, and other things daily and haven't had to adjust the volume on any of those)

Hasn't made any difference which OS I'm on the earpiece volume during a call is low compared to other blackberry's
I don't understand why more people aren't noticing this and complaining
Im sure this could be corrected in an OS update
On android it is just a matter of installing a different kernel

Try 225. Volume has been increased per reports by many in that load. Turn everything back to defaults as far as volume goes and see what happens after loading 225.

While the full volume is not as loud as earlier BB devices but I have had no such issues even with my bluetooth earbud.

I'll try loading up .225 later today to see if it helps...I had heard some people complaining when it first launched about low volume, just thought I was lucky...but it has been a noticeable decrease...

curious about this. Please update us whether you feel there's an increase in volume with .225. I've noticed the volume isn't as good as other bbs however it hasn't been too annoying for me. I prefer it too be louder so I'll def upgrade if it's a substantial difference.
