Is it safe to buy the ATT Blackberry Torch from amazon? Their price is $99.99 compared to ATT selling the phone for $200. Are there any hidden fee's when you buy from amazon?

It is safe however like other resellers like Wirely/Letstalk you must agree not to change your plan within the first 6 months. Amazon gets a commission from your new account and if features are removed they lose that commission.

Well I currently have the Bold 9700 on ATT that I bought off ebay, so I don't have a contract. I'm also on a family plan. Do you think that an corporate ATT store will match Amazon's price?

That price on Amazon is only for new lines or contract renewals. Their out of contract price is $550 which is $50 more than ATT.

But, I'm not on a Contract so I can still get the phone for $99.99? With signing up for a 2 year contract..Even if I'm on a family plan with two iphone 3g's?

Yes if you add a line to that family plan or if one of the lines is up for a contract renewal.

I'm confused. Since I'm not on a contact with ATT yet I have their service, Can I still get the phone from amazon for $99.99? Is that considered a new plan or contract renewal?

You need to provide more details. What do you currently have setup with ATT? A family plan with how many lines? Are all of the lines still under a contract? Do you plan on adding a new line to the family plan?

The family plan has three lines. Two of the lines are for iphones that are still on contract. My blackberry which has the data plan is not on a contract since I bought the phone from ebay. No I do not plan on adding a line since I already have one, but I do not have a contract.

You have to buy the phone with a contract extension on that line and if you remove the plan or downgrade the plan or cut the service within 181 day period you get charged the $250 subsidization.

Ok I see now. To get the discounted price you will need to do a contract renewal on that third line. It looks like both Wirefly and Amazon are selling the 9800 for 199.00 for a family line renewals anyway.

So then I might as well just buy the phone from ATT with a two year plan.

    Not necessarily, AT&T charges tax...

I'm not worried about the tax. I'm going to sell my bold on ebay and hopefully get atleast $250 or more for it.

Does anyone know if I can transfer my current cell phone number over from Verizon if you purchased a new plan and phone from AT&T on amazon.com?

Yes you just need to call ATT when you receive the phone and they will port your Verizon number over.
