Hi to all,
I am about to buy a brand new unlocked BB 9810, as an upgrade from my 9220.

I have a question, maybe some one can help.

The BB 9810 have OS 7.0. and of course I want to update to 7.1 my question is:
Can only update to the original carrier version or is possible / recommended to update to my actual carrier version ?

You can update to any OS version you like. However, some may work better than others, so you may want to research which one is the most stable, has the best battery life, etc.

You may want to read through that thread to see how people's phone fared about being updated.

The 9810 is a good phone. I think the lastest OS is 7.1.0.912. I'm sure if you search around here in the forum, you can find a link to download.

You can install any version of the 9810 OS on your phone. Like raino said, the latest as of this writing is 7.1.0.1033. If the latest isn't available from your carrier, you'll need to go through the "delete vendor.xml" annoyance with another carrier's OS. It's not that big a deal.

I bought a well used one on e-bay for 40 though most seem to go for double that. I believe your old phone may have an FM tuner as my 9320 does with OS7.1 but you wont on 9810 running the latest update.

BTW the 9810 was for my wife but Im tempted to keep it. My first contact with the BB slider.
