I prefer RIM's little lbs applet that overrides whatever AT&T does to hide the BB Maps icon:

I suggest QL as att for some stupid reason refuses to leave devices alone deleting the ribbon file on every reset and sb push.

This app does not get removed on reboot for me, which is the beauty of it.

    The lbs ribbon does.

I'm using the BB Maps Launcher as well for the same reason - the lbs_ribbon file would be removed after a reboot, after turning the phone off and on, and sometimes it would just disappear, probably from something being pushed from AT&T.

How about on Rogers .246? Do they have BB Maps as well? and the icon?

how about removing the BB Maps and then reinstalling again using the website?

AT&T blocks it with the service books, doesn't matter what OS.

Have no idea if Rogers does or not. The ribbon is what you install from the website, which isn't actually BBMaps itself.

Wow, I had no idea that AT&T actually removed this! It is definitely included in any Canadian carrier's OS.

Does AT&T release a tweaked BBMaps-less OS, or is it there like for anyone, but the AT&T service books nuke it?

Bb maps is installed. We remove the freaking ribbon file on every reset. It is certainly a pi$$er and believe me I expressed my opinion.
