My BB9700 shut down after becoming really hot! Went back to Best Buy to get new one and they no longer have any, so they gave me this 9800.. Since 9700 would not turn on they could not transfer info from contact list.. I did however backup the 9700 on PC within last week before "meltdown", however I can't get list out of BB software on PC to put into 9800.. It keeps telling me to connect 9700 first.
Does anyone know a way to get the 9700 contact list out of blackberry's software to install into 9800?

Have you tried "restoring" the backup file from your PC?
My 9700 screen cracked last November and was replaced with the 9800. All I did was restore the backup copy from the computer and re-enter the activation codes for all of my paid apps. Actually...it was a pretty painless experience, all in all. I love the Torch, but I miss my Bold.
