I hated the trackball. I think phasing it out was the best thing RIM did for their devices. It was annoying, and stuck frequently. I saw the trackball as something to "deal with" when using a Blackberry. I was extremely happy when the 9700, 85xx Curve, etc. began coming with the trackpad.
the old trackball..I SURE DO!!! I wish the Torch had one. Unfortunately, I also wish the Torch's keyboard was a little thicker...it seems almost like an afterthought... still trying it out though. I've only had it for 5 days or so.
i still have my Bold 9000.
i like how the trackball lights up together with the rest of the keyboards
i Rarely had my trackball fail. When u do have problems getting stuck, lock the keyboard. Then push the trackball in, hold it down and move it in all directions. Problem should be solved! Always worked for me.

Dont miss the trackball at all. Love the trackpad and the new torch. I do like the 9000 keyboard best out of all the phones I've owned. Here's to hoping for a 9000 refresh with touchscreen and trackpad.
honestly, after 24hrs i do miss it. But i remember my heart pounding as i opened up my 9000 to replace mine, warranty-less and pulling the screen off the PCB... my god never again haha
Not at all...they're way to tempermental...especially the ones I had on the Tour. Great in theory, but don't work so well when put up to real world use.
