That's strange. I haven't had any problems using third party wired and wireless (bluetooth) headphones. I switch between my 9810 and a GS3 all the time. In fact, sound on the 9810's actually better, as is the bluetooth sync.
Are you sure you're pushing the headphone pin all the way into the jack?
I don't mean the bluetooth headphone :) I mean the headphone that we use it to listen to music :)
OK. I haven't had any problems using my GS3's wired headphones. You may have a bad headphone jack, then. Try out a couple of other headphones; if none of them work, it'll confirm the bad headphone jack theory.
maybe your 3.5mm jack port is damaged
