Where are you getting that error?
What carrier?
What country?
What OS version on the device?

Have you done the suggested steps of wiping and upgrading your OS?

If this is a BES or BESX issue, I recommend doing the activation with a tether to a PC via BBDM. It'll prompt you to wiggle the mouse until the activation link is established.

I was having same error until this morning. I did following Steps to fix this up.

1: Go to Setup>> Email Accounts>> Internet Email Account>>

Note: There you will be asked for validating your email accounts which are already exists there. You need to type your correct password. And wait for the above error.

2: When you see the error, just ignore it, and open Internet Email Accounts again, and remove all the existing email accounts there.

3: Wipe your Device (BB)

4: When device turns on again. Go to Email Accounts, and Add new Accounts.

Your Issue will be solved hopefully. I did the above steps, and it worked for me.
