There are three setting that I do not understand on the 9800, they are
Tap Interval, Hover Period and Swipe Sensitivity. Could someone explain what each one does?

Great question. Could someone also explain what the best "combination of settings" is to get a quick responsive touch. I've messed with them, but it still seems off.

The only one I know is Hover Period. That's the setting for when you hold your finger over something, for the menu to pop-up.

I THINK Swipe Sensitivity is how sensitive the screen is to your finger moving across the screen to switch between screens (All -> Favorites , Etc.)

Tap Interval, I have no clue.

Tap interval is how fast you have to "touch" (tap) the item you want to execute or the maximum amount of time your finger has to be pressing the touchscreen for it to execute. For example if you want to open a folder with a tap interval of a 100, you would have to touch the folder icon really quick, if you leave the finger for more than 100 miliseconds (which im guessing is the unit it uses) it wont open it.

Its like the double click speed control panel option on a computer, if you double click too slow it wont do anything. Same here, but the lower the number, the faster you have to tap the screen to navigate through it or open items.

My default settings were: (TAP interval) 100, (HOVER period) 100 and (SWIPE sensitivity) (Medium) 3... I couldn't even open apps with those settings and had to use the hardware buttons. I had to use the slide out keyboard since the virtual one would barely open.
When I changed them so: (TAP interval) 300, (HOVER period) 300 and (SWIPE sensitivity) 3, hey presto, I practically don't need the hardware buttons. Also, I'm only using the virtual keyboard now and loving it!

For what it's worth, mine are:

    Tap: 500
    Hover: 200
    Swipe: 6 (High)
