I have had a playbook for almost a year and just got a 9810. Please excuse my ignorance but are you able to sideload apps on the phone like you can the playbook?

Not really. What exactly are you trying to do?

Sideloading refers to loading Android apps to the PlayBook. Android apps won't run on the BlackBerry phone.

No you can't sideload any apps the way you can on the PlayBook. The PlayBook and current BlackBerrys are two totally different platforms really, and all they have in common is the BlackBerry name.

...but you can use a variety of management software options to directly load *.cods from older devices onto the OS 7 device with variable success. I run a few that way, most notably Flycast 2.0; an internet radio streamer with some nice selections, and Sanoodi SMaps, a pretty accurate gps tracker I use to log my bike rides. Both date back to OS5. What can I say I'm an old dude that loves old stuff...my car, my house my wife...
